India’s government-run Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana (MGBBY) is an insurance program that covers handloom weavers and their families. This is one of a great government schemes and it was established in 1995 to give handloom weavers social security and aid them in overcoming financial challenges in the event of a death, disability, or old age.
The Life Insurance Corporation of India administers the program on behalf of the Ministry of Textiles (LIC). For the primary insured person and their spouse, MGBBY offers insurance coverage of up to Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000, respectively.
